Duct Tape Wallet

Duct tape is perhaps one of the most durable and versatile products out in the market today. With a little bit of imagination, you can make practically anything with this material.

Here are instructions on how you can make your own duct tape wallet. Remember to be creative with this. Don’t just use the same tape in the video. Pick something that you like. Even paint the tape.

There are great for gifts especially for middle school or early high school kids.

You can do it to test your crafting skills and show it off to your friends on how creative you are too. A duct tape wallet is a more complex accessory. If you want to try something more simple you could start off with a purse or a bag.

Step 1:

Start off by cutting an 8-inch piece of duct tape and laying it flat with the sticky side facing upwards. Do these 3 times for a total of 4 pieces, laying each on top of the other so that a little bit of their edges stick together. Repeat the process, this time placing the duct tape face down so that the sticky sides come together. This will be your basic wallet body.

Step 2:

Cut off a small portion off both sides of the duct tape where the sticky sides are jutting out. Try to cut off at least 0.5 inches per side so you will be left with a 7-inch product. This is your wallet body.

Step 3:

Grab another 8-inch piece of duct tape and cut it in half down the middle. Use this to cover the top as well as bottom portions that still have sticky sides jutting out. Essentially, you want to create a cleaner look for your wallet so nothing is sticking out.

Step 4:

Cut two pieces of 15-inch duct tape and just stick them together with the two sticky portions facing each other. Take a third piece of a 15-inch duct tape and cut it in half along the middle. Use this to close the edges for a cleaner look. This will serve as the pockets of your duct tape wallet.

Step 5:

Measure out the length of the wallets you want, depending on the credit cards you want to plate in there. Start cutting the 15-inch duct tape according to your desired length and just layer them on your basic wallet body.

Step 6:

Grab smaller pieces of duct tape and just start taping the pocket pieces on the wallet body. You can put two or three pockets depending on how many you are putting in. Place one in the middle and on both sides for that clean look.

Step 7:

Once you are done with the pockets, fold the wallet along the middle and just tape both sides together. You should be able to create a middle pouch wherein you put your money.

That’s it! Just use additional duct tape if you need to clean’ any edges but otherwise, you’ve got a perfectly functional duct tape wallet.
